Installation Guide
Quickly configure permissions and start using Polyglance.
macOS Setup & Permissions
1. Installation
Download the latest .dmg from the Download page and drag Polyglance into your Applications folder.
2. If prompted "Damaged and cannot be opened"
As an open-source project without Apple Developer notarization, macOS Gatekeeper might block execution. Open your Terminal and run:
xattr -cr /Applications/Polyglance.app 3. Required Permissions
In System Settings → Privacy & Security, grant the following permissions:
- Accessibility: For global hotkeys and text selection inspection.
- Screen Recording: For OCR scanning, scrolling capture, and video recording.
Windows Setup
1. Installer (Recommended)
Download Windows-x64-Setup.exe from the Download page and run it. It configures startup shortcuts and enables seamless auto-updates.
2. Portable Archive
Download Windows-x64-Portable.zip from the Download page, extract it, and run Polyglance.exe directly.
3. SmartScreen Note
If Windows SmartScreen prompts, click "More info" → "Run anyway".
